Touch controls are back, baby!
BOMB = DOUBLE-TAP
BLOOD WEAPON = TWO-FINGER TOUCH
I want lots of feedback before I mark the game as mobile-friendly so let me know what you think!
I've wasted spent about 4 days total working on touchscreen controls. The first two-day stretch ended in absolute hair-pulling frustration, at which point I vowed never to mess around with touchscreens again. But I kept getting the nagging feeling that more people would play Blood Ship if it had touch controls so again I spent too much time trying to reinvent the wheel before settling on the simplified implementation you see here. I feel like I've played featured games with worse touch controls than these, but I just don't want them to feel like an afterthought, is all. They're not nearly polished enough to compete with my favorite mobile shooter titles (Bullet Hell Monday, AKA to Blue, etc.). I'm not even sure getting them to that point is feasible for a solo developer with my (lack of) experience.
I've also fixed some issues with the cutscenes, textures not loading, unintended behaviors, yatta-yatta-yatta. At any rate, the game's in the best state it's been in so try it out, share it with your friends, and follow me, please! What? I'm not begging! You're begging!
