The Blood Ship is Thirsty

Touchscreen controls not implemented yet, but it may (should) work on mobile devices that are paired with a gamepad. If your gamepad doesn't fire with A, close Steam or any other app which may be modifying your input.
ll assets are made by me with the exception of the awesome Genesis music (obviously). The game will not go public until the music is replaced with music I created. I'm experienced with DAWs, VSTs, and real life synths, but I'm going to have to learn some Chiptune for this project to be legit. Background tiles and color pallets are a little basic as I'm focusing on the gameplay. The options don't work yet, but there will be filters (stylized scanlines) and backgrounds to fill out the empty space on 16:9 screens.
I don't like roadmaps because, as a solo developer, my favorite solution to problems is scope reduction, but the general plan is to make Stage 1 slick as all hell before creating Stage 2, adding cutscenes, a proper ending, etc. We're all here for the shootin' and dodgin', so that's pretty much all I'm focused on. The next update will probably see changes to the shot limiter to make it feel more like your favorite shmups (e.g., higher fire rate the closer you get). Expect weekly updates, likely on weekends, and give me all your feedback, no matter how small.
